I survived. I gave my speech in front of about 220 people. A couple lines got some laughs. Managed a cheer too. Drank too much after.
I feel like this cat this morning. She slept like that. Didn’t even budge when I pet her.
EDIT: thanks for all the advice. I mostly winged it except my closing I wrote down and read.

That cat made me laugh so much. I would walk outside and she'd be asleep in some weird position almost every time.

It takes a lot to embarrass myself but I had the most embarrassing moment in my adult life at the couple’s shower involving the bride’s mother so I made sure to be on good behavior.

Nope. I did reference it in my closing that only the people who were there caught. So a few people laughed but everyone else it just seemed like it was part of my speech.

Thanks. The floor plan helped because I stood in the middle facing the couple and then all the tables were to my left and right so even as I scanned the room it never looked as big as it really was.

I has a sad. I had a cat that looked almost exactly like that, down to the belly spots. I no longer have that cat...

I had one very similar growing up too. He wasn't as odd as this one though.
